PROFILE- CHINZE OJOBO

Chinze Ojobo is a UK-based African contemporary artist with over 70 international and local exhibitions, including, New York Expo and Bonham Art Auction among others. She is the Founder of KultureKode Arthub, who trained under EL ANATSUI, Her works are rich in symbolisms, expressive and intriguing. Chinze is an art activist devoted to issues of women and children rights. She believes in using visual arts to help drive greater gender equality and advocacy for Women and  children. One of her exhibitions at the European School of Economics, London, “Glass ceiling shattered “ highlights the plight of the girl child.

 

She is an award-winning artist who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Nigeria, NsukkaShe is an exponent of the ancient African Ulli art school where she was influenced by legendary artist El Anatsui. She also studied Interior Designing in the USA and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising. 

 

Chinze is a mixed media painter specialized in acrylic on canvas and jute. Her paintings are detailed, highly textured and rich in symbolism. Her colors are vibrant and full of energy. 

Chinze is arguably one of Nigeria’s most accomplished female visual artists. Serial collectors of her artworks include Hollywood A-List actors, such as Richard Gere, Boris Kodjoe and C C H Pounder Kone. Some other collectors of her works include, Bishop Charles Blake, Pastor of West Angeles Church, Los Angeles, California, Christopher Deidre ( O J Simpson’s Lawyer), Robert Kiyoski, author “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, Gospel Singer, Pastor Ron Kenoly, Rev. AL Sharpton, Prof. Chris Imafidon among others. Nigeria's President , Muhammadu Buhari is also a collector as he presents her artworks as his standard gift to departing diplomats and visiting dignitaries.

 

Chinze recently received Africa’s most prestigious Art award - _"2018 African Creative Artist of the Year Award"._   It was delivered to her at the UK House of Commons in an event hosted by Rt. Hon Dianne Abott, current Shadow Home Secretary, United Kingdom and chaired by Susan Fajana Thomas, former Mayor of the London Borough of Hackney.
